There has been increase in the Crash for Cash Scams used by some fraudulent drivers in the UK
“Crash for cash” scams, where people stage motor accidents to claim on the insurance of other drivers, have reached an all-time high, the BBC has learned.
The Insurance Fraud Bureau (IFB) estimates around 30,000 accidents were staged last year, costing insurers about £350m in 2009 and adding £44 to the premium of every driver in the country.
