South London creative collective Bakery Boys release their brand new second single ‘Up and Down Girl’, following on from the success of their debut single ‘Hustlin’ Behaviour’.
The huge hit has already received support from countless media tastemakers, with the likes of MTV Base, Kiss, Flava, AKA and Massive RNB all adding the video to their TV playlists. The track was also Sarah – Jayne‘s weekend anthem on BBC 1xtra, with the accompanying video debuting exclusively on ‘SoulCulture‘ earlier this week. The mellow track, which features a soulful melody from Mensah (lead singer from rock / indie band The Thirst), highlights the diverse talents of the Bakery Boys collective.
For those that don’t know, the Bakery Boys are a London based creative collective, whose talents lie in the fashion, music and art avenues. Their aim is to produce quality creations that promote one clear message: “to be all you can be in life”. The group includes brothers Ace Boogie and Shack, who grew up around the influences of music from a young ago – their father was a member of the legendary Soul2Soul. After joining forces with their childhood friend Dirty Dre, the brothers made a natural progression to turn rapping from a hobby into a full time career.
The group found their first taste of success with their debut single ‘Hustlin Behaviour’, which was premiered on MTV and received outstanding support from Channel AKA and Flava. The track was, and still is, played regularly on Choice FM as one of DJ 279’s favorites, as well as internationally on DJ Big Seven’s Streetz106 show in New Jersey.
After successfully planting their feet firmly in the door of the music industry, Dirty Dre and Shack decided to spread their talents into their love for fashion. Their bespoke brand ‘Justin Hustlin‘ has been standing strong for three years, and recently began to receive the global recognition it truly deserves. After a string of pop up shops in and around east London, the fashion industry reached out after ‘Justin Hustlin‘ previewed at Bread and Butter in Berlin, where it received enormous praise from industry insiders. Praise for the brand came from far and wide, with the brand recording a variety of quotes including: “Dope” (Gorilla Store in Rotterdam), “nice styling with a great finish” (Black Rainbow) and “we have had an eye on Justin Hustlin’ for over a year now, they really delivered with this collection” (ASOS) . More recently, online fashion giant ASOS launched a collaborative collection with the brand.
As well as their expanding clothing line and blooming music career, band member Ace Boogie’s talents also lie in acting. Ace recently played the lead role in online series ‘The Circle of Revenge‘, proving that the Bakery Boys really are a triple threat trio.
With authentic, quality music being an integral part of their journey and success, Bakery Boys are currently working towards their debut EP release, which will feature both ‘Hustlin Behaviour‘ and ‘Up & Down Girl‘, as well as future releases ‘Get This Money‘ and ‘Through My Eyes‘. The group also have further collaborations lined up with The Thirst, Disturbing London rapper G Frsh and Jae Millz (Young Money).
With a rapidly expanding brand, uncompromisable vision and undeniable musical talent, Bakery Boys are making their mark in the industry as the cool, urban, authentic creatives, with the talent to succeed in more than just one avenue.
