Continue reading »]]> LONDON — Bob Anderson, a former Olympic swordsman who staged fights for films including the “Star Wars” and “Lord of the Rings” series, has died, British fencing authorities said Monday. He was 89.

The British Academy of Fencing said Monday that Anderson died early New Year’s Day at an English hospital.

Anderson donned Darth Vader’s black helmet and fought light saber battles in two of the three original “Star Wars” films, “The Empire Strikes Back” and “Return of the Jedi.”

The villainous character was played by David Prowse and voiced by James Earl Jones, and Anderson’s role was not initially publicized.

But Mark Hamill, who played Luke Skywalker, said in a 1983 interview that “Bob Anderson was the man who actually did Vader’s fighting.”

Help us send a message to Penn State that morals and ethics are more important than saving face and winning football games. Our mission is to ensure the immediate termination of Penn State’s head football coach, Joe Paterno, after he allegedly failed to report the sexual abuse acts committed by his friend and assistant coach Jerry Sandusky to the police.

Because of Paterno’s inaction, nine boys have reportedly been molested by Sandusky over a nine year period. Penn State’s current plan, to give Mr. Paterno a hero’s retirement at the end of the season, is too good a fate for Paterno; he needs to be dismissed from Penn State’s Football program immediately.

I’ve been working closely and lately with our engineers on Tommiekiddy.com and we’ve found a solution to user’s complaints regarding the inability to finding certain information or videos after using the search box. i.e. some couldn’t find the music they were looking for, even when they type in useful keywords.

We can now guarantee a better searching experience and entertainment for fans and users on Tommiekiddy.com. Shout out to all those who made complaints, moaned (just kidding) and also ‘Sarah Bowen’ for reminding us of the glitch today (lol She wanted the New Ed Sheeran’s Album).

“I think I will call the White House,” Onyango Obama apparently stated according to the filed police report in Framingham District Court after he was caught with drunken driven.
The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) claimed he had an earlier deportation or removal order.

I didn’t know until i read this article on G.N. which stated that “Six hours of TV a day can cut life expectancy by nearly five years, research shows”. Another interesting thing that i discovered was that “every hour of TV watched after the age of 25 may shorten lifespan by 22 minutes.” This scares me as I’m getting close to the mentioned age.

Dr Lennert Veerman, from the School of Population Health at the University of Queensland, Australia proclaimed “TV-watching is in the same ballpark as smoking and obesity”. “While smoking rates are declining, watching TV is not, which has implications at a population level,” he said

Abbey`s flash of excitement……..

Rather than rush to his new wife’s rescue and shield her from any more embarrassment, 6ft 7in Crouch simply broke into laughter at his wife’s expense while she looked none-the-wiser at the fashion faux-pas.

However, after a rocky 12 months in their relationship which saw the lanky Tottenham Hotspur striker accused of cheating on the leggy blonde with Spanish prostitute Monica Mint, nothing was going to ruin Abbey’s day as she simply hitched the bespoke Giles Deacon dress up and carried on posing.

The pair decided not to sell their wedding photos for a lucrative magazine deal, as many celebrity couples do, and instead opted for a few photos in the grounds of the hotel, as well as reportedly banning their guests from taking any snaps.

Abbey Clancy and Peter Crouch have tied the knot eventually.

And we’re struggling to think if we’ve ever seen a more stunning bride.

Peter sure is one lucky fella.

The couple got hitched yesterday at Stapleford Park Hotel in Leicestershire.

Although they’ve refused to do a big-money magazine deal, the pair were happy to pose for photographers after they’d said their vows.

We’re sure we’re not the only ones who gasped when we first caught a glimpse of Abbey.

The 25-year-old looked breathtaking in a strapless Giles Deacon gown, which is reported to have cost £10,000.

If we ever get married, we want to look exactly like her.

Abbey and Peter had about 120 guests at their do yesterday and one apparently said: “The emotion of it all got to Abbey. They were both really nervous – and when she said ‘I do’ she just burst into tears.”

So sweet.

The pair started dating in 2006 and Peter proposed in July 2009. The gorge couple are proud parents to a, no doubt, gorge baby girl, Sophia Ruby, who was born in March of this year. Which makes Abbey’s transformation from new mum to beautiful, body-confident bride even more impressive, non?

Continue reading »]]> Petrol Bombs thrown during Police riot

Petrol bombs and other missiles have been thrown at police during rioting in the Ardoyne area of north Belfast.

The trouble broke out after police in riot gear took up position ahead of an Orange parade walking past the Ardoyne shops.

Stones, bottles and fireworks were thrown at police. Water cannon were used to push back the crowd.

The police also fired a number of plastic bullets.

A car was set alight nearby on the Crumlin Road.

The Greater Ardoyne Residents Collective (GARC) which opposes the Orange parade passing through the nationalist Ardoyne held a protest in response to the Parades Commission, decision to allow the march to pass the shops.

The Orange parade has now passed through the area.

Last year, there were several days of rioting after the parade was allowed to walk past the shops.

There has also been some minor disorder in east Belfast.

A number of youths have been throwing stones and missiles at police in Stewart Street. A car was set on fire.

The police said there had also been outbreaks of violence in Londonderry, Armagh and Antrim.

A 14 year old boy was arrested in the Fahan Street area of Derry city following disturbances there. A crate of petrol bombs were also recovered.

‘Challenging time’

In Armagh, there have been reports of public disorder in the Friary Road and Killylea Road areas. And in Ballymena a car was burnt out in Dunclug.

PSNI Assistant Chief Constable Alistair Finlay said the past 24 hours had “been a very challenging time”.

“My colleagues are working around the clock to protect the community right across Northern Ireland and we have sufficient resources in place to do this,” he added.

“We have unfortunately witnessed first hand this evening how violence damages people’s homes and businesses, it sets back relationships and leaves wounds which take time to heal.”

He said police would carry out a rigorous investigation, which would include the examination of CCTV footage.

On Monday night, 22 police officers were injured during serious rioting in several nationalist areas of west and north Belfast.

An investigation is continuing into the possibility that shots were fired during the trouble in west Belfast.

An ambulance and a fire engine were also attacked.

More than 40 petrol bombs were thrown at police, who said crowds of about 150-200 people were involved in the violence at Broadway and about 200 in both the Oldpark and New Lodge areas of north Belfast.

Crowds of nationalists threw petrol bombs and masonry at police who fired 51 plastic bullets in the Broadway and Oldpark areas.

Continue reading »]]> HUNDREDS of schoolchildren in Worcester (UK) were forced to stay at home today (Thursday) after their teachers went on strike.
Four primary schools in the city, including Red Hill CE Primary and St Clement’s CE Primary School, were closed throughout the day, while 14 others were partially closed or had a reduced number of classes.
The Chantry High School in Martley was only open to year seven pupils, but all of Worcester’s high schools remained open.
The move came after members of the National Union of Teachers (NUT), Association of Teachers and Lecturers (ACT) and the University and College Union (UCU) said they were unhappy with planned changes to the Teacher Pension Scheme, which would mean they would have to work longer, pay more and get less when they retired.
Staff from Worcester College of Technology formed pickets at both its city centre campus on Deansway and the School of Art and Design on Barbourne Road. Bryn Griffiths, the college’s UCU branch chairman, was impressed with the turnout.
He said: “We are passionately against what we see as the Government’s attack on lecturers’ pensions, for what we believe to be false reasons. We want to send a message to the government, because we don’t believe they are serious about negotiating with us. We want them to see the depth of anger felt by lecturers.”
A course leader at the college, who did not want to be named, said they were compelled to strike for the first time because they felt so passionate about the debate.
“Fair pensions for everyone is the right thing because we are all entitled to a decent pension. The government is trying to take a percentage of it which is not what we signed up for. We are going to struggle to make it last.”
The University of Worcester was open as normal, although a number of staff took part in the strike action.
A spokesman said: “Much of the teaching for undergraduates has now ended for the academic year and staff are now involved in planning, as well as undertaking their research work.”
Strike action from the Public and Commercial Services Union (PCS) also caused some disruption and at Worcester Magistrates Court only one court has been sitting today. But Worcester’s Jobcentre on Sansome Street opened as normal.
Worcester MP Robin Walker said he was disappointed to see union members resort to strike action, but was pleased to see a large number of schools remain open.
He said: “I know some teachers who are members of the striking unions have decided to put the interests of their pupils first. Parents and communities will appreciate their dedication.”

Continue reading »]]> A 51 years old Russian woman who had been pronounced dead due to chest pain wakes up to discover that she’s been ‘declared dead’ and was being prepared for burial; Fagilyu Mukhametzyanov then died again due to the shock after waking up at her own funeral; but this time for good.

Devastated husband Fagili Mukhametzyanov, 51, had been told his wife had died of a heart attack after she’d collapsed at home suffering from chest pains.

Mr Mukhametzyanov said: ‘Her eyes fluttered and we immediately rushed her back to the hospital but she only lived for another 12 minutes in intensive care before she died again, this time for good.

‘I am very angry and want answers. She wasn’t dead when they said she was and they could have saved her.’

Hospital spokesman Minsalih Sahapov said: ‘We are carrying out an investigation.’

The aircraft attempted to land on a motorway about 1km (0.6 miles) from Petrozavodsk airport in the republic of Karelia, but crashed and caught fire.

The Tupolev Tu-134 operated by RussAir was carrying 43 passengers and five crew. Some of the survivors are said to be in critical condition in hospital.

The plane came down while flying from the capital, Moscow, to Petrozavodsk.

Just seen a local paper to find out the following report from the Newspaper; Uxbridge Gazzette (North-West London, UK)…

Thomas Okumo, Emmanuel Chisholm, Joel Ogunsanya, Jaffar Shah, David Olabode, and Devinder Sandhu, have been jailed for 41 years in total for a gunpoint carjacking in West Drayton, London.

All six men were charged and convicted with the following offences:-

• Conspiracy to commit burglary on the 30 September 2010
• Conspiracy to commit robbery on the 30 September 2010
• Possession of a firearm (imitation) whilst committing a schedule 1 offence

Details of sentences given:
Thomas Okumo, aged 18, Barncroft Close, Hayes, sentenced to 5 Years 6 Months
Joel Ogunsanya, aged 18, of Trevor Road Hayes, sentenced to 7 Years 6 Months
Emmanuel Chisholm, aged 19, of Clayton Road, Hayes, sentenced to 7 Years 6 Months
David Olabode, aged 20, of Clayton Road, Hayes, sentenced to 7 Years 6 Months
Jaffar Shah, aged 21, Gledwood Drive, Hayes, sentenced to 5 Years 6 Months
Devinder Sandhu, aged 22, London Road, Aston Clinton, Aylesbury, sentenced to 7 Years 6 Months

Before the report i’d like to say the media does exaggerate crime to a certain extent which is unbelievable… It’s no doubt that these boy’s done a terrible crime and should pay for it. and also no doubt in saying that these boys were unknown to the police prior to the crime and are currently remorseful and devastated by their actions.

SIX armed thugs who carjacked a motorist at gunpoint and burgled a house in one night have been jailed for a combined 41 years.

The group were sentenced last week at Harrow Crown Court after a police sergeant spotted men matching the attacker’s descriptions and helped arrest them within hours of the crime wave last September.

Five of the group were young men from Hayes, who now face years behind bars….

… Emmanuel Chisholm, 19, of Clayton Road, Hayes, was arrested in Trevor Road as he cycled away from his flat. He was found in possession of keys for the stolen VW Polo.

Joel Ogunsanya, 18, of Trevor Road, Hayes, was arrested at his address and found in possession of a wallet, bank cards, and a set of keys belonging to the robbery victim.

All three denied the offences and were found guilty after trial and sentenced to seven years and six months in jail.

Thomas Okumo, 18, of Barncroft Road, Hayes, and Jaffar Shah, 21, of Gledwood Drive, Hayes, were arrested a week later and admitted the offences and both received five years and six months.

The final assailant Devinder Sandhu, 22, of Aylesbury, Bucks, denied his involvement, but was also found guilty and sentenced to seven and a half years.

Most of them came from good families and were brought up to accept societal norms and values; Emmanuel Chisolm for example was enrolled in college while he was working part time prior to the crime; the group of people he’s associated himself with, have influenced him and caused him to act in these manner. Emmanuel was also a polite and respectful young man. His family were shocked by the act of these young men.

Joe Ogunsanya (aka Junior) was also in college prior to the crime and he was planning on starting his own ‘painting and Decorating’ business prior to the incident. He was a smart boy who was capable of success in life prior to the crime.

There’s no doubt in saying David Olabode lacked crucial role model in his life, he lost his mother at a young age with nobody to take care of him and was led to befriending hooligans. However David was in college and was planning to study architecture at university. He was also a brillant young man with great vision but lacked support in pursuing his goals. therefore there good sides to these young men, and they’ve been misled due to the type of friend they’re associated with.

Hence it’s not everything that appears to be the way it’s been portrayed in the media, the media are there to sell and publish news whether biased or unbiased. However i’m not consenting or defending these offender, the court of law’s rightfully purnished them according to their deeds.

This is a story about a 17 year Old Chinese boy sells his kidney as he couldn’t afford an iPad 2… He now regrets the decision he’s made for 20,000 Chinese yuan (3,000 US dollars or 1800 British Pounds). The boy surnamed ‘Zheng’ from Huishan City told Shanghai Daily he now regrets the decision since his health is getting worse.

“I wanted to buy an iPad 2 but could not afford it,” said the boy “A broker contacted me on the Internet and said he could help me sell one kidney for 20,000 yuan.”

On April 28 Zheng went to Chenzhou City in neighboring Hunan Province for the kidney removal surgery arranged by the broker. His parents knew nothing about it, Zheng said. He was paid 22,000 yuan after his right kidney was taken out at the Chenzhou No. 198 Hospital.

When he returned home, his mother found out and reported to the police immediately. But they could not locate the broker whose cell phone was always powered off, the report said.
It turned out that the Chenzhou No. 198 Hospital was not qualified to perform organ transplant. The hospital claimed they had no idea about Zheng’s surgery because the department that did the surgery had been contracted to a Fujian businessman.

Vodafone has sent legal notice to Dhaval Valia, that held Valia responsible for “false allegations“, “defamatory statement on social networking website Facebook“, sending “unneeded and unwarranted text messages to the company’s senior officers“, having “heated conversation“ with a “senior female officer“, “threatening“ the company, posting the “names and contact details“ of two senior Vodafone officers who have been getting calls from the “public at large“ and “facing mental trauma and torture“ due to Valia’s “intentional and mischievous conduct“ (via).

“Finally got Vodafone to admit that across Mumbai they have only 50% cell sites on 3G. Spoke to CEO (chief executive officer) and CMO (chief marketing officer). Told them that this is blatant cheating.

A case of social media understanding gone wrong? Can a company file legal case against people for their Facebook updates criticizing the company? Where do you draw the line between freedom of speech and ‘spreading rumor’?

Continue reading »]]> Gil Scott-Heron, the musician and poet who wrote The Revolution Will Not Be Televised and was seen by many as “the Godfather of Rap”, has died aged 62.

The US artist died in a New York hospital on Friday, after becoming sick on returning from a European trip.

His style melded jazz, blues political expression and spoken-word poetry on songs such as The Revolution Will Not Be Televised, which critiqued mass media in the 1970s.

His influence on generations of rappers and hip-hop artists has been demonstrated through sampling of his recordings by artists, including Kanye West.

Although Scott-Heron was often called the Godfather of Rap, it was a title he rejected.

“It might have been that there was music in certain poems of mine, with complete progression and repeating ‘hooks’ which made them more like songs than just recitations with percussion,” he wrote, in an introduction to a collection of poems, in 1990.

Instead, he referred to his work as “bluesology” or “black American music”.

A woman aged 36 was enabled by the justice to masturbate in her workplace because she has a strange disease. The court ruled in her favor and now she can masturbate at work.

This is the story of Ana Catarina Bezerra Silvares, an employee of an accounting firm, a divorced mother of three who lives in the village Vila Velha, Espírito Santo.

The woman suffers from a rare condition known as “compulsion orgasmic”, caused by a chemical alteration in the brain region of the cortex, which leads her to masturbate several times a day to relieve the deep anguish that it causes.

Under this circumstance, Bezerra started legal proceedings with the company where she works that eventually won and that enables to masturbate for 15 minutes every two hours, besides using the computer to see erotic images that stimulate her desire.

Osama Bin Laden is dead, President Obama announced Sunday night, in a televised address to the nation. His death was the result of a U.S. operation launched today in Abbottabad, Pakistan, against a compound where bin Laden was believed to be hiding, according to U.S. intelligence. After a firefight, a small team of American forces killed bin Laden and took possession of his body, the president said.

“Tonight I can report to the American people and the world that the United States has conducted an operation that killed Osama bin Laden,” Obama said during brief remarks at the White House.

Osama bin Laden was killed in his “mansion,” according to the New York Times. Where did America’s most wanted terrorist call home?

Landslides and floods triggered by torrential rain have killed at least 10 people in southern Brazil.

Among the dead were three children whose home was among several buried in the town of Novo Hamburgo in the state of Rio Grande do Sul.

A man was electrocuted by toppled power lines in Sapucaia do Sul and a farmer died when a building collapsed on him.

Floods and landslides in January killed about 800 people in a mountainous region near Rio de Janeiro.

A highly venomous species of snake (A Cobra) has been reported to have escaped from Bronx Zoo since Friday. thats really not funny. The Zoo keeper tried convincing the public that there will be no harm and that the snakes gone to a safe place to hide “To understand the situation, you have to understand snakes,” zoo Director Jim Breheny

Jim Breheny claimed that “Once the snake gets hungry or thirsty enough to leave its hiding place, workers will have their best opportunity to recover it” how safe can this get when the roughly 20-inch-long Egyptian cobra snake gets hungry?

Haitian/American Rapper Wyclef Jean’s been shot in Haiti, armed gunmen fired at his vehicle just outside the Port-au-Prince in Delma, Haiti. source claimed he’s in stable condition. the image above is supposed to be the hospitalised Wyclef

Whyclef was the only one injured though he was announced to be with Busta Rhyme, Jimmy Rosemond and other members of his entourage. Will he be there at tommorow’s historic election?

Update: He’s been treated and has been released from the hospital. A rep claimed that the bullet just scraped his hand and “He’s fine now. It happened late yesterday night and he was released after a couple hours.”

There you have it people, Wyclef is alright now, living as a fugee again.

It seems like yesterday when Apple unveiled the first iPad, i remember comparing it to a stone as the first one was almost irelevant.

Apple’s described their new iPad as Thinner, lighter, faster, Facetime, Smart Cover with 10 hour battery.

iPad 2 Features (What to expect):
The iPad 2 will surely be lighter (1.3 pound) than the old one (there was a lot of critism on the original iPad regarding the weight at 1.5 pound) and even thinner too (8.8mm thick).

The new iPad has a rear and front facing cameras for recording video, taking photos, and FaceTime video chat.

It has has a new A5 dual-core processor which offers up to 9 times faster graphics processing. Apple claimed ‘the faster speeds of the new processor will not have any greater power consumption than the previous A4 processor’ which is good to know.

The iPad will come in black and White with the same 10-hour battery life. only if it was longer

A new accessory cable will also offer mirrored HDMI video out to HDTVs for 1080p high-definition output

It has another accessory announced by Apple, which is a magnetic “smart cover,” which covers the front of the device. Covering the front of the device automatically locks the device, while taking it off will unlock it

Release Dates:
on Friday, March 11, in the United States., while 26 more overseas countries will get the device on March 25.

Continue reading »]]> Pakistani Minorities Minister Shahbaz Bhatti has been shot dead by gunmen who ambushed his car in broad daylight in the capital, Islamabad.

He was travelling to work through a residential district when his vehicle was sprayed with bullets, police said.

Mr Bhatti, the cabinet’s only Christian minister, had received death threats for urging reform to blasphemy laws.

In January, Punjab Governor Salman Taseer, who had also opposed the law, was shot dead by one of his bodyguards.

The blasphemy law carries a death sentence for anyone who insults Islam. Critics say it has been used to persecute minority faiths.

Mr Bhatti, 42, a leader of the ruling Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), had just left his mother’s home in a suburb of the capital when several gunmen surrounded his vehicle and riddled it with bullets, say witnesses.

Patrick Stephen Trejo, 25, has been charged with conspiring to have bestial-sexual contact with an animal and although he has been bailed, officials at Raul Castro Middle School have placed him on ‘administrative leave’.

Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio found evidence to suggest Mr Trejo had used Craigslist to find a dog owner prepared to allow him to have sex with their animal.

Court papers published by ABC15.com include claims the teacher advertised for people interested in ‘K-9 play’ and added: ‘Hit me up if you have a pup to play with.’

A second Phoenix man, 47-year-old Keith D Kiefer, was arrested and charged with the same offence after apparently placing an ad seeking ‘beasty worship of the kinky kind’.

The two men were caught after undercover officers posing as dog owners responded to their adverts and arranged a meeting at a local hotel.

Sheriff Arpaio said that although this was a sting operation, there were people who trained their dogs for sex with humans and advertised the service on Craigslist.

Bestiality made the headlines in the UK earlier in the month when 42-year-old grandmother Paula Mangan, of Netherley, pleaded guilty to having sex with her family’s Rottweiler.
